The Oshkosh Police Department arrested 53-year-old Shawn Black Feb. 11 for three counts of possession of child pornography after an investigation led by detectives and Vice and Narcotics Unit.
Law enforcement executed a warrant at Black’s residence on the 1100 block of Moreland St. after a cyber-tip through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The investigation into the cyber-tip reported media depicting child sexual abuse, commonly referred to as child pornography.
At the residence, OPD reviewed content on a laptop and located three separate videos of child porn. Law enforcement reported that Black acknowledged there would probably be more than 1,000 images and videos of child porn on the laptop.
According to OPD, detectives will be seeking the assistance of the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation – Digital Evidence Unit to examine the laptop further for evidence of porn.
Black was transported to the Winnebago County Jail. If anyone has information regarding this incident, they are encouraged to contact OPD at 920-236-5700 or the Winnebago County Crime Stoppers at 920-231-8477.
