A two-vehicle head-on collision on State Highway 21 near County Highway K in the Township of Rushford on Feb. 5 left two men dead.
At 9:48 a.m., the Winnebago County Highway Department and deputies from the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office simultaneously responded to reports of a collision.
Law enforcement said in a press release that each vehicle was occupied by a single driver, and both drivers, a 32-year-old man from Berlin and an 83-year-old from Redgranite, were killed because of the crash.
State Highway 21 was closed for several hours after the crash, and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team is still investigating the cause of the accident.
