The UW Oshkosh tennis team will look to improve on last season’s 6-4 record when the Titans take on UW-Whitewater in an away game for the opening match of its 2023-24 season Sept. 1.
The Titans attend their first tournament of the season, hosted by UWW, the following day on Sept. 2.
The team is coached by Steve Francour for his 25th season at the helm of the team and has an overall record of 162-154 while coaching the Titans. Francour returned to UWO after stepping away for nine years to become the head men’s and women’s tennis coach at Lawrence University.
After Francours return, the team placed fifth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference last season.
Top performers last season were sisters Louisa and Cordelia Damkot, who went 8-5 in doubles and in singles, Cordelia went 11-5.
Throughout the duration of the season, Oshkosh will host five meets on Sept. 9 and 23 and Oct. 7, 13 and 15. All games are available for students to attend with no admission fees.
