The nine top fives for the UW Oshkosh women’s swim and dive team highlighted the day for both teams in the annual non-scoring Wisconsin Showcase on Saturday Oct. 18. Due to extensive updates to the Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer the swimmers competed at the Koenitzer Aquatic Center in Kenosha, Wisconsin and the divers competed at the Racine Unified School District Aquatic Center in Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin.
The women’s 200-yard medley relay team of Sienna Della-Peruta, Bella Cichon, Rowan Sinclair and Kori Burnett finished fourth in the event with a time of 1:55.75. The women’s 200-yard freestyle relay team, which consisted of Burnett, Olivia Pelliteri, Kacie Stamm and Callee DeBruin, finished fourth with a time of 1:45.79 in the event.
In the individual swimming events, Sinclair placed fourth in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.43. Mille Belik finished fourth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:45.68. DeBruin took the last top-five spot in swimming events, with a fifth-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56 seconds flat.
Paige Vitek with 197.63 points and Maya Indiraraj with 194.40 points finished second and third respectively in the 1-meter diving event. Indiraraj with 199.95 points and Vitek with 160.88 points also finished third and fifth in the 3-meter diving event.
In the men’s efforts on the day, the team totaled five top 10s and three fifth-place finishes.
Charlie Mason led the way with three top 10 finishes. Mason finished ninth in the 200-yard individual medley relay with a time of 2:04.66, eighth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:07.42 and came in eighth in the 400-yard individual medley relay with a time of 4:33.20.
CJ Willert finished 10th in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 58 seconds flat. Damen Seremet came in eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke and 10th in the 200-yard breaststroke with times of 1:00.65 and 2:23.41 respectively. Jullian Koller finished sixth with a time of 2:12.04 in the 200-yard butterfly.
In the 200-meter freestyle relay, the team of Gavin Wicklander, Nate Lorsch, Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez and Seremet finished in fifth with a time of 1:29.93.
Divers Glen Cole and Charley Cook scored 203.18 and 194.48 points respectively, and finished fourth and fifth in the 1-meter event.
The Titans will have their first dual meet of the season at Albee Hall & Pool on Oct. 25. UWO will host the Carroll University Pioneers for the team’s Parents Day. The meet will start at noon and you can catch the meet on WIACNetwork.com.
