The UW Oshkosh men’s swim and dive team placed third scoring 586 points and the women’s team placed first with a team score of 909.5 at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational this past Saturday.
The men’s side saw strong relay teams with the 200-yard freestyle relay team taking first, consisting of Gavin Wicklander, Nate Losch, Leo Ramirez-Gutierrez and Damen Seremet with a time of 1:30.35. UWO also took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay consisting of Wicklander, Law Lykins and Landon Bicknase with a time of 3:27.24.
Milwaukee School of Engineering took first place at the invitational with a score of 880.5. Lake Forest College took second place with a team score of 613.
The women’s side saw strong relay teams and strong individual performances. The women’s team was highlighted by freshman Callee DeBruin, who placed first in the 200, 500 and 1650-yard freestyle. Kori Burnett, a sophomore, finished in first place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.50. Junior Sienna Della-Peruta took first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.28. The Titans took first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay which consisted of Kacie Stamm, Bella Cichon, Olivia Pellitteri and Elsa Piering with a time of 1:48.24. UWO also took first place in the 200-yard medley relay, which consisted of Della-Peruta, Cichon, Rowan Sinclair and DeBruin with a time of 1:58.95. Junior Paige Vitek had a strong showing, placing first in both the one-meter and three-meter dive.
Lake Forest College took second place to the Titans with a score of 744.5. Milwaukee School of Engineering took third place with a score of 398.5.
The Titans will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, traveling to De Pere to compete against the St. Norbert College Green Knights at 1 p.m.
