UW-Oshkosh had three members of the men’s wrestling roster compete at the NCAA Division III National Collegiate Region VII Championship from Feb. 27-28 hosted by UW-Eau Claire.
The Titans finished 12th out of 16 teams at the regional with a total of 30.5 points.
Ryan Bergman was sent to the 165-lb. consolation bracket after a technical fall loss to Tanner Gerber from UW-La Crosse.
Bergman won by a 14-1 major decision over Jack Miller from Augustana College (Illinois) and a 4-1 victory over Jonathon Harvey from UW-Eau Claire. Bergman reached the third-place match where he lost to UW-Stevens Point wrestler Dylan Cariveau 7-2. Bergman finished in fourth place for the Titans.
Ryan Hanson was sent to the 133-lb. consolation bracket after being pinned by Saint John’s University’s (Minnesota) Connor Krueger. Hanson finished the 133-lb. bracket with a 3-2 record and a seventh place finish for the Titans.
Jacob Ward wrestled in the 149-lb. consolation bracket after being pinned by Riese Thornberry from UW-Stevens Point. Ward medically forfeited both of his matches on the second day, getting an eighth place finish for UWO.
UWO finished the season with an overall record of 2-10 and a conference record of 0-5. The team collected 206 individual wins, with 57 wins coming from pins this season.
