The lone home meet of UW-Oshkosh track and field’s outdoor season saw multiple first place finishes for the Titans on April 10 and 11 at the Oshkosh Sports Complex.
In field competition, freshman Megan Geason made her presence felt in her debut. Geason won the triple jump with a mark of 11.94 meters, along with a second place finish in high jump with a height of 1.6 meters. Freshman Ruby Goldstein also took home a first place finish, winning the discus with a throw of 45.35 meters.
Gavin Fritsch won a pair of events for Oshkosh, taking home the victory in hammer throw with a mark of 59.58 meters, along with the senior throwing a 50.16 meter finish in discus.
Junior Bryce Hale finished in silver standing for hammer throw with a toss of 55.04 meters. Senior Kieran Maude rounded out the sweep for hammer throw, placing third with a throw of 54.43 meters, in addition to a third place, 14.87-meter finish in the shot put.
Senior Cameron Bendixen finished in third place in discus, while junior Isaiah Baez-Isom placed second in the shot put. In high jump, senior Matthew Ewens won the title with a height of 1.95 meters.
Oshkosh swept the podiums in men’s long jump, triple jump and pole vault. In pole vault, graduate student Collin Kao won the event with a height of 4.96 meters.
Senior Joshua Rivers, fresh off of winning the NCAA Division III indoor long jump national title last month, continued his winning ways, taking home the long jump crown with a jump of 7.77 meters.
UWO also saw a pair of podium finishes in the decathlon. Bryce Smith took home the crown, as the junior compiled 6,470 points.
Addie Baker won the lone track event for the Titans as the sophomore finished the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.95 seconds. Boegh also participated in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, crossing over the finish line at 12:06.72 for third place. Five first place crowns went in favor of UWO on the track.
Junior Dylan Doss squeaked past junior Nolan Milas in the 200-meter dash to take the victory with a time of 20.59 seconds, while senior Davian Willems finished the 100-meter dash on top of the leaderboard with 10.47 second finish.
The 400-meter dash also came down to the millisecond, with freshman Sean Malay edging past freshman Eli Kerner with a time of 49.23 seconds.
Junior Lucas Nicholson picked up the victory in the 1,500-meter run, crossing the finish line at 4:00.68. Graduate student Xavier Lasee won the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a 10:41.71 finish.
The 4×400-meter relay, consisting of freshmen Luke Beeksma, Noah Callahan, Jacob Hite and senior Dwight Hosni, placed second in their event with a 3:34.69 finish.
Oshkosh now heads to both the UW-La Crosse Phil Esten Challenge on April 16-17, and the Lawrence University Viking Twilight meet on April 18.
