The UW Oshkosh football team fell to the nationally ranked No.12 UW-Whitewater Warhawks 24-7 to end its season at 5-5 on Saturday, Nov.15.
The Titans had a season-low in offensive yards with 163 yards and went 4-for-11 on third down and went 1-for-2 on fourth down attempts. Quarterback AJ Korth was 6-for-16 for 100 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions and was sacked two times. He also ran for 45 yards on 11 rushes.
Oshkosh’s Kyle Dietzen led the team in tackles with four solo tackles and nine overall. Kenny Satori recorded a sack with six total tackles.
Whitewater received the kickoff and on a 14-play drive scored off of a 2-yard pass to take a 7-0 lead on a seven-minute drive. Oshkosh stalled out on its drive and punted the ball back to the Warhawks, which drove down the field for 85 yards to score again. After an 18-yard pass from Korth, he was intercepted by a Warhawk and was returned for 27 yards. After the interception, Whitewater turned the ball over on downs and gave the ball back to Oshkosh. The Titans then fumbled the ball on their own 25-yard line which led to a Whitewater field goal adding to its lead 17-0.
After a sack from Satori, Oshkosh went on an eight-play drive going into Whitewater territory and scored off an 8-yard pass from Korth to Jon Mathieu, putting Oshkosh while trailing 17-7.
UWW scored its final touchdown after an 11-play drive that ended in a 3-yard touchdown pass to extend its lead to 24-7.
Oshkosh ends its season 5-5 with a conference record of 3-4. This is the first time the Titans have had a losing record against conference opponents since 2010 when their record was 4-6.
