Dumpster fire near Reeve

(1:15 p.m.) — Fire has been extinguished

UW-Oshkosh officials announced that the dumpster fire outside of Reeve Memorial Union has been extinguished. Emergency responders cleared the scene and said people can return to normal activities in the area.

(12:45 p.m.) — Dumpster fire near Reeve

A dumpster fire is burning near Polk Library and the Reeve Memorial Union according to UW-Oshkosh, which sent out an “Urgent Titan Alert” to all students, staff and faculty Thursday afternoon at 12:43 p.m.

The text and email alert said that people should avoid the area until further notice and that first responders are on the scene managing the situation.

Jacob Link is the Editor-in-Chief of the Advance-Titan and is pursuing a double major in Multimedia Journalism and Radio/TV/Film. Link started as Co-Sports Editor of the A-T as a freshman before becoming Assistant News Editor and Managing Editor. Link follows in the footsteps of his parents, who are both A-T alumni. After graduating in May, Link is planning to pursue a career in broadcasting and print journalism.
