Suspect pleads not guilty to burglaries
One of two adults being charged in connection to the burglaries that occurred near the UW Oshkosh campus from Sept. 9 to Sept. 27 pleaded not guilty on Monday.
Demari Webb, 22, pleaded not guilty to one count of receiving stolen property worth less than $2,500. According to a criminal complaint, Webb was named a suspect by a participant in the burglaries. A list of pawned items consistent with items stolen was also found in his possession. Webb will have a plea and sentencing hearing on Jan. 28, 2019.
According to the police incident report, four juveniles are also being charged in connection to the burglaries. Although a substantial amount of property was recovered from the burglaries, the incident report stated it is unlikely that some items will be located, such as laptops and TVs. Based on information from several defendants, these items were destroyed or thrown away.
