Elmwood Avenue robbery has UPD looking for two suspects

A 19-year-old male was robbed of personal belongings on the 800 block of Elmwood Avenue, across the street from Harrington Hall, Tuesday night around 9:30 p.m.

The victim was not hurt in the robbery.

According to an Oshkosh Police Department press release, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts approached the victim.

“[The victim] stated that they may have had a weapon and that they took several personal belongings from him,” the press release stated.

According to the Titan Alert that was pushed out to campus, the suspects were described as two six-foot-tall, 18- to 25-year-old “dark-skinned males” with hoodies pulled over their faces and carrying duffel bags.

The victim was on his way to student Nick Farley’s house, according to Farley.

Farley said the victim was robbed and brought around to the back of his house.

“Two African American guys, tall and lanky, came up to him and pulled out handguns and demanded him to get on the ground after they walked him behind our house,” Farley said.

Farley said the robbers started yelling at the victim.

“They were yelling ‘shut the fuck up,’” Farley said. “[They also yelled] ‘Don’t look up. Get on the ground.’ Then they took his backpack and told him to give them the money from his wallet.”

The victim could not be reached for comment.
